BVG Seminars 2026 of the Bernese Occupational Pension and Foundations Supervisory Authority (BBSA)
At the BBSA BVG-Seminare 2026 in Bern, Dr. Christian Kunz opened his speech on cybersecurity in the occupational pensions environment with practical guidance for the many audience members whose personal data had been leaked after a third-party IT provider serving public pension schemes in Switzerland was hacked.
He then set out the growing cyber threat facing Swiss pension funds, including phishing, social engineering, business email compromise (BEC), supply-chain and insider risks. The speech also covered the pension-specific challenges such as sensitive data and long retention periods, and closed with recommendations on governance at the foundation board level, incident response, third-party management and training.
The two presentations took place / will take place on 22 and 27 October 2026, respectively.
