Bär & Karrer Advises Swissgrid, Pronovo
and Foundation KEV on Outsourcing the
Execution of the Network Surcharges and
the Guarantees of Origin

On 1 January 2018 the revised Energy Act (EnG) entered into force. The Act stipulates that the execution of the network surcharge system as well as the issuing of guarantees of origin must be outsourced to a subsidiary of Swissgrid AG. With the founding of the Pronovo AG and the transfer of the respective activities, Swissgrid fulfills its legal obligations. At the same time, the dissolution of the Foundation KEV took place.

Bär & Karrer acts as legal advisor to Swissgrid, Pronovo and Foundation KEV in this outsourcing transaction, which involved also various departments of the Federal Government.
