Techniplas Group Acquires WEIDMANN Plastics Technology Automotive & Industrial from the WICOR Group

The US based Techniplas Group, a leading manufacturer of plastics components for the automotive industry, successfully completed the acquisition of the automotive and industrial activities of the WICOR group. The combination of Techniplas and WEIDMANN Automotive & Industrial creates a major global supplier to the automotive industry with total net sales of over half a billion Swiss Francs and a market presence in Europe, North and South America, as well as Asia. All locations and employees of WEIDMANN Automotive & Industrial in Switzerland, Germany, Spain, the USA, Brazil, China and South Africa will become part of Techniplas. At WICOR locations with multiple business activities, such as in Switzerland, USA or Brazil, the divested business or the respective legal entities will be carved out and continued as a part of the Techniplas Group. At the Rapperswil headquarters, Techniplas will rent office space and production facilities from WICOR currently used by the Automotive and Industrial business.
