Know-how & Education
Know-how
Bär & Karrer spends great efforts to systematically maintain and document know-how - the knowledge and experience of its lawyers. Our state-of-the-art know-how database contains more than 15,000 documents made available by our lawyers to be used as templates, mnemonics or for the improvement of knowledge
We are the only law firm in Switzerland employing an experienced lawyer whose exclusive responsibility consists of taking care of know-how management, training as well as professional and personnel development.
Our highly cooperative work environment as well as our straightforward, casual way of interacting facilitate the exchange of knowledge considerably. Our open-door policy is no lip service, but a lived principle in our offices. In addition, different in-house training and professional development events serve the exchange on new developments and experiences.
Training and Professional Development
During the basic courses, our Partners prepare our lawyers for the specific requirements of our work.
In addition to our weekly office meetings, on which occasion our associates give presentations on topics of general interest, several events of our practice groups make part of the in-house professional training. The Bär & Karrer practice groups are structured as follows:
Litigation & Arbitration
Listed Companies & Capital Markets
Corporate, Transactions and Restructuring
Banking, Insurance & Finance
Private Clients
IP, IT, Sports & Competition
Tax
Generally, each of our lawyers is specializing in multiple practice areas. Accordingly, all in-house training and professional development events are open to all lawyers irrespective of their practice group and practice area. Such multi-specialist approach shall enable them to identify potential problems outside the scope of your core specialization and to go beyond just getting law right.
