Team Spirit and Responsibility

Our associates are working in a team led by a partner who supports and guides them. However, associates are also given the opportunity to work "at the front" independently and in direct contact with the client. Even though our work is demanding and often needs to be carried out under time pressure, we are committed to keeping a supportive atmosphere where team-spirit is a lived principle. Professional Development, Bär & Karrer College

Our Associates benefit from Bär & Karrer College (BKC), a professional development program which is unique in Switzerland and which we run in cooperation with the University of St. Gallen (HSG). BKC does not only provide you with the specific knowledge of commercial law you need to perform your work, but also contributes to strengthen and broaden the foundation for your career with business and economic knowledge as well as soft skills.

The credits and degrees earned within the BKC will be fully counted towards an MBA.

As a part of the commercial law training, an integral part of the BKC, our lawyers attend our basic courses, practice group meetings and seminars as well as our weekly office meetings where associates give presentations on topics of general interest.

Know-how

Associates at Bär & Karrer have access to a vast wealth of know-how. Our open-door policy as well as our know-how database let them profit from the know-how and experience of each lawyer in our firm.

Publications and Academic Work

We also appreciate and encourage publications and academic work. Many of our lawyers regularly publish articles on the latest legal developments and questions. Moreover, many lawyers at Bär & Karrer are actively involved in the academic world as professors, lecturers or guest speakers.
